Back to PW for lunch today with Steven. I am going to say, things were looking up. Corporate execs were in so everyone was on their toes. Had my fab, lettuce wraps, traditional. Steven had the wonton soup and loved it. Here's the only problem. My feet were sticking to the floor. There seems to be a lot of spilling in the drink area. Steven reported it and they said it is an ongoing issue. I didn't like that because it made the place feel dirty. They need to put down mats or something.

Dining at the counter is exciting; just be careful of the flames!!! The cashier wasn't the most pleasant or engaging, but the waiter was very nice. Decent lunch alternative. Conveniently located to go shopping in the adjoining plaza or bookstore in the area.

Cold take out. My take out order sat for 8 minutes while I waited and watched order after order go out. When I asked why it sat for so long, she told me she said my name and I didn't answer. That clearly was not true. Next time I will just go somewhere else.

I was excited to learn of this place and tried it one weekday evening. The ambiance is great and the infamous soda machine glows on the side of the open kitchen. I ordered the Dan Dan noodles w/ shrimp and the cashew chicken with rice. Soup was served on the side, and it was quite tasty. The DD noodles were mushy and gummy, with a synthetic texture and soaked in a sweet and salty glaze that mimicked the consistency of glue. The chicken was ok, and you can opt for brown rice if you please. With so many better options in town, I probably won't be back for this fast food version of Far East fare.

I actually really enjoyed my short visit at Pei Wei. It was my first tme to the chain, and I received great customer service from the time I walked in to the time I left. When you first walk in, there are a few large menu boards to peruse that are helpful if you are waiting in line and still need to decide what to order. I was taking a few minutes to look, since I didn't know the menu, and because it was slow, a cashier actually walked up to me and politely asked if I had been there before. She went over popular menu items, and asked if I had questions. I thought that was pretty nice, especially because I've worked in a similarly styled restaurant, and know how little these part time workers make! So I was touched that she took the extra step in customer service. I placed a takeout order, after debating for several minutes. (I'm not the most decisive person. In my defense, a lot of the menu items sound pretty similar.) For two large portioned entrees and a soda, the order came to less than 20 bucks which I found very reasonable. I ordered the Thai Dynamite with crispy chicken for myself, a signature item on the menu. It tasted fine, and I appreciated that the chicken and brown rice was cooked very well. It just wasn't spicy at all and was almost on the bland side. Had I been in the restaurant, I'm sure I could have just added a bit of hot sauce or something and it would have been fine. My bf ordered shrimp fried rice. His tasted great, and everything was cooked great as well. Everything is made to order here, and I like the open kitchen style where you can see all the guys using the woks and making everything to order. The manager was overseeing things in the kitchen, and he even tossed out a hello and how do you do as I was walking from the counter to the soda machine. PS, the awesome futuristic coke machines totally get an extra star from me. It took possibly less than 10 minutes for my lunch order to be ready. One girl packaged up my order, and asked what plasticware and etc. that I needed. She was very sweet as well, and was very nice and helpful as I asked for a bunch of extra items. I'm not a local, so I won't be back any time soon, but I would definitely go back to a Pei Wei if there was one near me!

Service was excellent .... The main dish came out to salty, but they did exchange For a new meal. I would go back again.

Yup 5 stars... I went in and ordered a dish prepared a special way. The manager came out and wanted to verify if this was what I wanted (Thank you) I informed him why I wanted the food that way (to smuggle it into the hospital for my wife who just had surgery) The manager INSISTED on giving me a triple portion AND seperating it all out for me for my wife. The BEST part? When I went back 5 weeks later, the manager and the person who took my order said to me before I could get a word out, "Hey, how is your wife doing?" Yup, people make this place, a customer for LIFE! (She's doing just fine thanks!)

God...REALLY!?!?!?! So many people talking about how Pei Wei is so good. So many people talking about how much better than PF Changs this place is. I do not know what is worse, the fact that I believed it or the food! I really tried not to go into a rant on this one, but this place is just bad. Walking in I had my reservations, but I went ahead with the order: Wonton Soup Kung Pao Chicken extra spicy with white rice General Chu Chicken extra spicy with white rice Wonton Soup - ok, Vienna sausage filled wontons I was given my number and I went to find my table. It really worried me that all of them were sticky and greasy. The fact that the bussers were vigorously wiping the tables after people left made me worry about how well they actually knew how to clean and also made me wonder how often they cleaned or changed the cleaning rag. Bleh... Drinks were served from a multi-choice Coca-Cola machine. I really don't like these machines. Every one of them I have tried has tasted watered down and fizzless. This machine did not break the theme. The wonton soup arrive fairly quickly. The broth and noodles weren't too bad, but the wontons tasted as though they were filled with minced Vienna Sausages. If you don't know what these things are, go to the store and buy a pop-top can. Bleh... Some time later, our "entrees" arrived. I had asked for "extra spicy" fairly certain that it would at least get me something that tickled my tongue. Let me say, it should all just be called "mild." The rice was both overcooked and stale. Bleh... Moving on to the meat, I found that I really didn't care for the Kung Pao Chicken. The meat was hard and over-cooked; it tasted like it had been reheated after it had set for some time after having been deep-fried. The sauce was salty and overly bitter. The General Chu's Chicken was not much better and tasted more like a candy-coated chicken briquette. Bleh... We ate what we could and left. I don't care for PF Changs and would prefer never go to that restaurant. Pei Wei, regardless of what has been said, is MUCH MUCH worse. I will never return.

I am not a huge fan of the P.F. Chang's chain, but I think the food at this progeny to be better. Nice concept and generally fast. And I like that the place is not afraid to have spicier dishes. Be prepared for confusion as the food comes out as ready so guests seated after you may get dishes before you and you may get your dish well before your dining companion. Soda machine with its touch screen and very contemporary design is neat. The problem is you end up waiting sometimes as people figure out the machine and browse through the 125 different choices. For those going during the work week for lunch, be prepared to wait for a table. The process is that you can't just grab a table and have a friend order. Rather, you will have to stand and wait until a table becomes free. Once that happens, a server will give you a number, grab the table for you, and then let you order.

OK, I give this 4 stars for what it is. A cheap Americanized Chinese restaurant. I think the pei wei spicy chicken combo is great and its only like 6 bucks. You can even have them make it stock velveted to make it a bit more healthy. Why spend $40 a PF Changs when you can get similar food for less than half the price?

  • A. N.

The food was pretty good. Less fast food than Panda Express, similar taste with more flavor but less salt. The service could use some work, as well as the serving sizes. The girls were standoffish and slow. Overall, decent experience.

  • Todd S.

Mediocre Chinese fast food. Food Court Chinese is WAAAAAAY better than this. 1. food is loaded with salt and/or sugar 2. clean a table once in awhile 3. Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are the only upside to this place.

I am obsessed!!!! This is the only Chinese food that I eat, even though it is Japanese, Koren, Thia, Mongolian and Vietnamese. The price is awesome and the food is awesome and the wait is awesome. every time I travel and see a pei wei, I know I am going to have a good dinner : )

First visit to this location and the food was well cooked my order was taken fast(a little too antisocially fast). I enjoyed the food but the seating arrangement here is very uncomfortably laid out, Made for an awkward lunch because the only comfortably located tables were either full or dirty keeping in mind I came in at 3pm and there is no rush so there were more dirty tables than full ones and they didn't start to clean them till about 3:25.

This place is Ok. The only reason I come here is for the lettuce wraps (the Thai chicken lettuce wraps to be specific, they are my fave.....really good flavor with a lot of spice)....& sometimes a spring roll and some edamame too. They're yum, they're fresh, they're cheap & they're fast. However, I've yet to find anything else on the menu worth eating.....every chicken dish I've ordered tastes the same & there's barely any chicken meat, it's all rice & garnish. It's also not very consistent....sometimes they're friendly, sometimes they're not, sometime its spotless, sometimes its dirty, sometimes things are prepared differently.....it just depends on who's working there at that shift on that day, they just have too many employees & too much turnover. That being said, I still go there about once a week to pick up some lettuce wraps, spring rolls & edamame on my way home from work on a busy day, it's definitely convenient :)

This is a follow up visit my wife and i went there today and Rudy the manager made sure we was taken care of. It was almost a 5 star visit accept for 2 small things # 1 the wonton soup was cold and # 2 the the egg rolls were very chewy and not crispy at all it should have been fried a bit more. But enough of the downside time for the highlights. The Pad Thai with shrimp and the Mongolian beef was perfect they was served nice and hot with plenty of great tastes I hope to visit again soon and will order the same 2 dishes. If you have been disappointed in the past I would advise you to give them another chance.

Boy did they get this wrong. I ordered on-line and arrived 1 minute before the scheduled pick-up time. I was told I was early and handed a beeper - not a good sign. The kitchen is open and the restaurant was not busy at all. I watched as one of the cooks (the tall blond with the scruff) stuck his bare fingers into my food and pick something out and show it to another cook before flicking the offending object in the trash. Of course, he still put the food up at the pass. I couldn't eat the food at watching that demonstration. I won't be back. Why would anyone go here for take out when Yeung House is directly across the street?

I was so excited for this place to open in Fort Lauderdale. I've eaten there 3 times now, and I always seem to forget that I don't like it all that much before I eat there again. The menu sounds so tasty, but after trying 3 things (pad thai, orange tofu, honey sesame tofu), I feel like they all taste the same. And there is definitely something weird about the flavors. It doesn't really taste like Chinese foods I'm used to, it's mostly salty and the dishes that say spicy - well heat is the only flavor. I've only done take out, which is good, because the tables are all dirty. It also takes quite a long time for the food to come out. Overall I'm disappointed.

Disappointing. Started off being out of some of their most popular menu items and about half of the soft drinks in their way cool soft drink machine. The Mongolian Beef which is normally good at Pei Wei was undercooked and soft...not like it is normally. The cooks seemed to be more interested in their cell phone conversations than cooking or keeping the flames under control. Maybe it's because they opened recently and just don't have their sh*t together...let's hope they figure it out.

I was excited to go to Pei Wei in Ft. Lauderdale on Federal Hwy last night. We arrived early so I decided to have a glass of wine while we waited for the rest of the party. The decor was very warm and inviting. I love an open kitchen too! However I received a VERY low pour on the wine and nicely asked if they could check to see if this was their standard pour. He took it back to the employee that poured it and they both openly smirked and I received the same glass back with a" Yes" this was their pour. We went outside to wait and the outside tables were dirty even though there were plenty of employees on that night that could have stepped out and wiped them down, I should mention the employee outfits were very nice and professional. When we finally ordered dinner I ordered the Pei Wei spicy chicken and sweet and sour soup, and another glass of wine even though I thought it would be a low pour again. I different person poured the wine and he poured a proper portion? The soup was very good but when they brought the dinner over I was disgusted with the sauce the food was drenched in. It was literally shellacked in pure sugar. I rarely don't finish my meal even when it's not good because I am too cheap and If I pay for it I will eat it and just not return to that restaurant. However this food was like eating cotton candy and I could only stomach 3 bites, Other food at the table was the Mongolian chicken which was very sugary but not as bad and the Teriyaki which again was pure sugar. There was also one other dinner that I don't know the name of but I was told it was also too sugary and she did not finish her plate. I don't know if all locations are the same but I would be shocked if they are all putting all that sugar in their food. Unfortunately I will never go back to this location. :(

Initially went by to review the menu and Specifically asked employees if there was ANY MSG in the food here. I was told NO, by a manager. Enjoyed eating here probably 6 or 7 times, except for the amazing amount of salt in the soups and except for the many seats which have the air conditioning ducts way high up in the ceiling which blow down on you like a wind storm. Also, each time I sat at a table, I had to re wipe them clean... Nice decor, seating comfortable, etc. Didn't mind waiting a few minutes in line and the employees seem eager to please. However; I experienced some stomach upset each time. I'm not prone to anything like this usually. Finally I figured there must be something added to the food which wasn't agreeing. Could it be MSG? hummm... well, I called and discussed the issue with the manager, and was told that some of the preparations MIGHT have msg in the sauces or flavrorings used in the food but that none was added at the time of cooking. He was supposed to research this and get back to me,but never followed through. Thanks Bud!!! bye bye! Next!!!

Ordered online around 7:30 pm - said pick up would be at 8:05. When we checked out it got moved to 8:30. Called store to see if they could honor 8:00 pm pick up because i have little kids. They said "no, that is up to the chef. there is nothing we can do. your order will be ready at 8:30. at 8:00 my phone rings and it is chris from pei wei asking if I was hungry because my order was ready and just coming up. i explained what happened earlier when i called about moving time to 8. his reply was that i should have spoken to him. (as if we are friends or something!) My husband flew over there to pick up the food and was back in 10 minutes. the food was terrible! Gummy and old! Overcooked chicken and beef, noodles that were dry and sticking together. Terrible food experience and terrible staff experience...long way to go at this store.

If you are looking for quick, tasty Asian food, then Pei Wei is the place. There is good variety of dishes from various areas (along with special dishes every once in a while). We have been here many times, and the food is consistent. One thing that is nice about Pei Wei is that they are willing to make changes if asked. For example, I got the Mongolian chicken and asked for it "spicy". They were happy to accommodate my request. Another point of Pei Wei is the rice; you have a choice of white or brown rice. I never thought I would like the brown rice, but it was very good. Had a "nutty" type of flavor which went well with the Mongolian chicken. Service is good, and the food is hot. We also tried the Spicy Korean, which was very good and full of fresh veggies. Finally, there is the drink machine. While many places are starting to offer the "variety" machine, the selection of choices is amazing. I really think that the place offers great value.

This is definitely the "fast food" version of authentic asian cuisine. Too greasy and drab. If you just want something fast and edible, and don't care about authenticity, this is for you. It will fill you up, but isn't the best choice.

Ordered call in and got Crab Wontons added to my bill that I never ordered. Caught it after I paid. Then had to wait ten minutes to get a refund. They told me they were going to give me the Crab Wontons for my trouble then they forgot them again. All this while my good was getting cold and I had some place to be. Food is usually good but it's the bad service that gets me every time. If it weren't for my girlfriend liking this food so much I would support the local chains because I hate such subpar service.

Being a big fan of PF Changs Chicken Lettuce Wrap, I decided to stop at Pei Wei to pick up those along with an entree for my husband. I should've checked my order before I left because there were no lettuce in my chicken lettuce wraps! Not only that but the chicken was WAY salty that I barely ate any of it. I ended up writing to Pei Wei letting them know of my disapointment, and I was graciously mailed 2 coupons for a free entree and a free lettuce wraps. I decided to use my coupon for the chicken lettuce wraps almost immediately so I made my trip expecting the best. When I gave the cashier my coupon for the free wraps, I was told that coupon wasn't valid. Even the manager tried telling me the same the same thing. I even told him I got it because their place screwed up my order. I told the manager and cashier to just cancel my food orders and as I was walking out thinking I would never return there again, the manager ran after me saying he would honor my coupon. Being as I was hungry, as was my husband, I said fine. What a disappointment. I'll never go back there again.

I should have read the reviews!!! Just got out of the gym and wanted something a little on the healthier side so I opted for the Pei Wei spicy chicken salad which was supposed to be wok seared chicken over cucumbers, red bell peppers, napa cabbage, lettuce, and cold rice noodles. What they neglected to mention was that the wok seared chicken came drenched in a sweet/spicy thick sauce and that was plopped on top of the salad. So much for healthy. The spring rolls are right on the money and the coke machine is absolutely kick ass! The rest of the menu looked pretty interesting and I'm going to give it one more shot when I feel like indulging.

I didn't expect much for this restaurant because it looks like typical "fast food" "American version of Chinese food" place. Still... Yuck!! We ordered 3 different dishes and none of them came out right. We tried Mongolian Beef, Orange Shrimp and pad-thai. Rice was not cooked enough, everything was way too salty (maybe wrong amount of sauce...), even iced tea was very bad. (too bitter) I guess cooks there has no idea what kind of food they are cooking for... Anyway, never again. One of my worst experience for sure.

I surrender!Had the new Singapore chicken dish with black pepper for lunch.Iwill not be returning as i am tired of lousy portions, inconsistent food and badly run operations. The lunch i had that was 10.00 for a beverage and chicken dish was awful. It tasted like reheated dinner from last night. But at least last night there was 2/3 more food and fresh. There might have been 7 nuggets of chicken and a few asparagus shoots and a lump of brown rice.I am sick of this place and shall now be looking back at so called greasy spoons for Chinese.Maybe i should short PFCB?

Beware of this particular Pei Wei restaurant. The inside looks nice, good staff and cool soda machine.... But the food here are extremely salty! I've been here about 4 times and I've ordered 4 different items and they're just as salty. I've even told the cashier to go easy on the salt and got no result. This place makes Panda Express taste gourmet. Thing is, I love Pei Wei, just not this one. I've been to a few other locations, one in Weston and one in Plantation, and they're both awesome places to eat and food there is well made and well flavored.

The second star is for the kick ass soda machine. What makes PF Chang's cheaper exactly? Just wondering? Wow! $30.00?? Can someone please clean me off a table? Yes, I know there are several but they are all dirty. Yes, some plates would be nice, thank you! Wow, a lot of people must not like their food because its all over the floor? The Mongolian Chicken is good. The egg rolls are not good. That's all.

The coldest dining room in America. It is absoluely freezing in there, and they dont care. I said something and they said "yeah we know, it was really freezing yesterday". The AC is running so hard that the lights over the tables are actually swinging back and forth from the force of the air. Geez guys, its 56 degrees out in South Florida and you can see customers shivering in your dining room, do you REALLY need to crank the AC up?

I went there the other day with my friend for lunch. His luucn was good, my Lo-mien was soft and mushy. The manager took it back and ordered me another one, then he went in his office I guess. 25 mn later, I still didn't get my meal, the GM noticed, he was very apologetic and offered to make me another one ( 3rd time), and he refunded me all my money. Although he was nice to do so, the Lo mien was still overkooked and mushy and the sauce was very blend. Never again, it's a shame cuz the place is nice, the employees are friendly, but the food not so much

Thought I would give this place one more try last weekend. Had the Dan Dan noodles again and they were so-so after I doctored them up with spicy mustard, soy sauce and the chili sauce that sits on the table. Friend had the Thai Dynamite which was dry and dull. He choked down almost half before giving up and pushing it away. The only reason I give this a high rating of 2 stars is because the lettuce wraps we shared were actually pretty good.

    (2)
  • SHERRYL K.

The one star is for the lettuce wraps. Everything else we ordered was overly salty, and we got an added bonus! We all dropped like flies within 2 hours, doubling over with stomach cramps, etc. Just to make sure we were not coming down with the flu or some other nasty thing, I had some leftovers the next day and sure enough! I did NOT have the flu. Definitely food related. Never again.

Wow such negativity amongst the reviewers! I've been twice and I can say for certain on both trips my friends and I have enjoyed our food experience! Having tried the Lettuce Wraps-amazing, Mongolian Shrimp-excellent, Mongolian Steak-tenderly delicious, Korean Spicy Chicken-not so spicy but good, Crab Wonton-real crab makes them fantastic, Pork Eggrolls-bursting with pork and veggies and Pei Wei Spicy Chicken-flavor explosion!!! For the soda drinkers super cool soda machine with every flavor one could ask for! My only complaint is the clumsiness of the front of the house staff! I understand that it is not a leisurely kind of place with limited seating for the volume of customers but please don't run into the tables as you try to clear our plates as we take our last bite! But for the quality and price I will continue to try everything on the menu!!

I should have heeded the warning; alas, I was stubborn. I used to love Pei Wei. I have no idea how it became this shadow of it's former self. Maybe other locations are better, but this place was terrible. The rice was was not at all sticky making any attempt to eat it with chopsticks foolish and frustrating. The meat was over seasoned and just bad. Looks like i'll have to live with the memories of times past, because I won't be returning.

  • Dr. Ryan S.

This is a solid establishment, and the doctor will tell you why. Let's say you don't want to go to PF Changs but you don't want to- wait 4 hours, talk to a waiter who doesn't stop twitching and never fills your water, all while paying enough money to send a Guatemalan orphan to Harvard. BUT you really want Americanized Chinese food that you don't have to worry about eating, because that mystery meat roadkill marinated in that red syrup slime has ruined many a night for you. Better safe than on the toilet with Chinese chicken flea flu. Well Confucius, answer to this question, we must go Pei Wei. Pei Wei is PF Chang's ghetto second cousin who set up a food truck next to the dumpster in the parking lot of his uncle's nice restaurant, but he still serves good shit. That being said, it's good quality Americanized Chinese at actual reasonable prices, prices that won't make you mortgage your house to pay the tip. It's also very fast and easy to get, which allows you to get this delectable Mongolian beef in those stained sweat pants you still think fit. This place also comped our food because their computers were down and slowed down the order, which was a great gesture. So, take the doctor's word for it or go see for yourself but if you do make sure you do it in those old soffee's, your robe, and some sandals.

Don't leave your food not even for a second. I got up to get a fork and when I came back they had taken my food away and stacked it with the trash. He didn't even look around to see if I was still there. I was 15 feet away. In less than 10 seconds they had taken my food away and trashed it. When I asked to speak to a manager the manager, D. Perez came out AND DEFENDED THE EMPLOYEE FOR TAKING MY FOOD AWAY WHILE I GOT A FORK. Then I waited for them to make another one and they did not even check the order and made something completely different than what I ordered. So I had to wait for my food, not once, not twice, but three times. I do not recommend this place.

First of all might I state the food was prompt, and well prepared. My problem lies with the manager of the restaurant, Zachary. Our meal began with him yelling at his cooks about some internal problem they were having in their open kitchen. Yelling so loud, that every patron could hear him. He said if the "problem" kept persisting they would all get written up and then fired. Next he comes around to a table near us and apologizes to the family for whatever problem occurred with their food and expresses that he is so "sick of this ghetto problem." Mind you, Zachary is a white male and his cooks in the kitchen are all African American. His expression had an incredibly offensive connotation. We were so disgusted and offended that we confronted him about his inappropriate language. We told him that his behavior was unacceptable and it looked like to us that his employees were working hard in the kitchen. (Hence the open kitchen at Pei Wei that holds every employee accountable) He continued to complain that his cooks are always fighting and get in fist fights at work. He also expressed that he had to call the police three times this week due to employee issues, and that one of his employees brought a gun to work. At this point my friend and I are in complete shock and shaking with anger. I asked him if I should feel unsafe at his restaurant and he shrugged and said maybe. PEI WEI, get rid of this man! I cannot believe the experience. My night was ruined by how uncomfortable and unacceptable the situation was. And to his cooks, I hope you can get a better manager or a new place to work.

We went back to Pei Wei on Federal Hwy tonight. The menu is still confusing but we got our food very quickly. The wait staff was VERY attentive all the way down to taking my fried rice back because it was scorched (she noticed this before I did). She apologized and gave us free crab rangoon. It didn't take barely 5 minutes to prepare more fried rice and we were checked on frequently during our meal to ensure everything was perfect. I also noticed how clean everything was and that the employees were busy wiping everything down from the soda machines to the doors leading to the kitchen.

So I was turned on to Pei Wei about a year ago. I usually really enjoy this place but our experience and food at this location was horrible. To start, and it really isn't even their fault, they got rid of the greenbeans. It was an appetizer and they were delicious!! We went in and waited about 5 minutes before anyone came over. We finally placed our order and I was happy to see that they had small sizes and regular. I always thought they gave you way to much food so I was happy. After we got our drinks and sat down, we got our appetizer, crab Rangoon, within 2 minutes. They must have been made already because it came out fast. The rest of our food came out about 20 minutes later. I looked around and noticed that almost everyone in the restaurant was also waiting. The thing that was most annoying was we had 4 people and EVERY single dish came out at different times. My food, (my SMALL portion) came out last, my family was pretty much finished eating. I noticed that it was the same for most tables that had two or more. I also noticed that the kitchen looked like it had no idea what was going on. The small portion size is a joke! I mean a waste of money. There was 1 tiny piece of chicken which went along with about 5 bites. It was more of a side dish. I just think this location needs some help. I definitely will not be returning to this location, Ill give another a try and see what happens.

I come here occasionally. Every time something is wrong. Either you have to wait on line forever to order because they only have one person taking orders; or they screw up the food order by bringing 1/2 of it out instead of you and your guests meals together, or the tables are dirty, or the food is way too salty. Who manages this place?????

Terrible service, my wife and I waited 45 min for a single dish. Our server kept telling us the food was coming, but it never came. Worst of all, we kept seeing her yell at the chef to make our food, and then the chef just seemed to ignore her. WORST experience at a fast casual restaurant I have ever had. The location on 17th street constantly has issues as well. Whom ever the gm for this area is, they need to get their act together.

Mongolia beef a little to sweet. Sweet chili sauce I prefer duck sauce. Soup good nice size delicate wontons .

45 mins after an online order was placed and 20 mins after it was paid for I was informed that they were out of an item and my order hadn't been filled or started. This is 5 mins after I asked to speak to a manager that couldn't have cared less. I never actually was able to speak to that manager. Two and a half stars seems to be a high mark for the service and efficiency of this place. Barely managed to sneak out of there with a refund that I had to demand, no "can we fix this", seemed to be a very regular thing for this place...

After treating myself to some new shirts at Men's Warehouse it made sense to treat myself to dinner out on the town - it was a pay day after all and the rent was covered! I've always wanted to try this place out because it reminds me of Pee Wee Herman (the sorta stupid name) and it had a good crowd. You order and pay at the register and then the food is brought to your table. Really nice young crowd of servers and the restaurant was certainly clean.... the thing is... well, the food just didn't "wow." In fact it wasn't all that great; some down and dirty hole in the walls seem to just serve up tastier oriental fare - this at best, was meh. But it wasn't atrocious either; just not inspiring me to return... next time I go to Men's Warehouse I'll probably head back down the street to a host of other mom and pop eateries that promise to provide more substantial and tastier fare.

So this is a chain restaurant and I normally do not like to write reviews on these! BUT my experience here was nauseating and it almost ruined my love for Thai food :( which I absolutely love... Came here with my buddy for a quick bite before heading to the gym ( yeah I know) this was my first and last time here, I got excited because I see that they had a minimum selection of Thai food here, so I said hey let's give it a shot .... Mmmmm big mistake ... I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai .... Yuck yuck yuck barf bark! The taste was not like an authentic style that I've had... It's was so saucy that 3-4 bites in I felt like I needed a pitcher of water ... Not how it's supposed to be. I also had the little cup of chicken wonton soup ... Welllll lets just say the wontons were the size of a small walnut ... The staff was very friendly and place looked clean... But the food that I had, nope ... My guest who happens to like that place concurs ..

Ordered the Lo Mein with Chicken. It was salty and oily. Quite possibly one of the worst Lo Mein I've ever had because the over priced serving with just horrid. Gave a second star because the portion was big, but still not worth the price and the amount of salt I ingested. Maybe, I'll try them again.

Man has this location gone down hill. It's a complete mess at lunchtime now. Don't even think about not calling in ahead unless you want to take an extended lunch break. It takes a solid 20-30 mins to get your food now. Today I found a piece of metal wire in my food. I almost swallowed it, actually. They gave me a coupon for a free meal, but I'm just grossed out now. I guess almost choking on metal will do that to a person. I will not be going back to this location.

Not quite an "On" evening. 20+ minutes to get our food. No ice in the soda machine. No table set up. No forks. Some work needs to be done.

I love pei Wei , but this particular location sucks ... Everytime I order take out they mess up ... I ordered online , when I got there they were out of one thing , no biggie , it happens ...when I get home I realized one item is completely missing as well and I ordered sauce on the side and this is what I got ... Ge it together pei Wei !

One star only because I have to......... I was excited when this location opened a while back and we would visit very frequently. The past couple of managers even knew us by name and greeted us by name unexpectedly. It was almost impossible to get seated due to how busy dinner was which was awesome and like a night out. We ate at this location at minimum three times a week. Several months ago I noticed the location was starting to look bad. The tables always seem dirty, the floors are horrible and the restroom (mens) is always practically unacceptable. The floor in the restaurant looks like a dirty mechanic shop with chipped paint. Bad service pretty much all around. And I noticed the great management was no longer there either and several of the wait staff that I tipped well also no longer working the dinner rush. Last night, we arrived around 6 pm. There was no one in line. We stood first in line by the wall menus while three people behind the register counter figeted around. Finally after several minutes we were greeted. We ordered the same thing, Chicken Pad Tai. We proceed to get our drinks and silverware. Well, the fork I pulled out of the metal canister on the condiment counter had food in the tongs. I pulled several out and they were all wet, as were the knives. Really? OK....so I wipe my utensils normally before using anyway..... The food was delivered to our table, both being the same, and was just sat down in front of the two of us as there was no guessing of who ordered which dish. No greeting, no hello, just placed down and walked off. OK...... The food tasted odd. Not like usual. Still, at dinner rush, only three or four tables were seated and several tables were still dirty. We finished our meal and remained seated talking to eachother. I noticed the empty plates sat on our table and are usually timely picked up. Driving home, and luckily I only live two minutes away, we barely made it home (vulgerarity excluded here). Yep, I WILL NOT walk back into this location!!! I hope corporate addresses this location. Or it is used for another retail spot that will actually be worthwhile here.

I don't take leaving a mediocre or poor review lightly. Every business can have an off day. However, after three consecutive visits (1 for dinner and 2 for lunch), I feel comfortable stating the quality of service is extremely poor. It is sad because Pei Wei started off with great food and service. In my last three visits, however, we dealt with incorrect orders, part of the table being served while the rest of the table (4 people) waited between 5 - 10 minutes for their food to be brought out. Today, it seemed everyone was being served individually, my food was cold by the time the rest of the table was served, our appetizer was brought out after we finished eating and one of us NEVER got the food that was ordered. I feel fortunate, however, at least we got food. The couple next to us arrived before we did and the husband was still waiting for his food when we left. The two stars are for the quality of the food. I would still do takeout and eat here alone but I will never return with other people. I think management needs to step up and fix these problems if they hope to survive. Update: I am sad to say that things have continued to get worse at this location, which is a shame because the quality of food is still good. The service, however, just continues to get worse. Additionally, the attitude of the staff had gone from friendly to intolerable. The location used to be clean, but now it is nasty. Sit in their food covered sticky chairs at your own risk. A surprise health inspection would likely shut them down today. There are cooks without proper hair covering and the entire place is filthy.

I am going to start by explaining why I am giving Pei Wei Asian Diner a 4star and not a 5star. I feel as if the staff, including the management, have more than one thing they can improve on. I have thought about writing a bad review for Pei Wei Asian Diner for at least a month now, but would prefer to have something nice to say about the staff/restaurant first. I have been coming to this Pei Wei Asian Diner location for over 2 years now and at one point the staff was amazing. Lately though, I have had many occasions where I was very dissatisfied with not only the staff but the management themselves. For example, about a week ago I was here dining with a friend from out of state and my partner when we were "Jokingly" asked if we were ready to leave. The staff member seamed to want us to rush through our meal and get out of the restaurant for some odd reason. On another occasion, I was dealing directly with the manager taking my order. This manager not only answered the phone while I was placing my order but also kept avoiding me while doing other things. Multitasking is a good thing, when you are able to focus on both costumers at the same time. This manager, on the other hand, had to ask me a number of times to repeat myself because he was too distracted to remember what I said not even a min before. My latest occasion was with another manager. Before taking my order, I didn't even get a "Hello, welcome to Pei Wei" or even "How may I take your order". Instead she just looked at me and expected me to read her mind. After placing my order, she continued to present herself with a lack of costumer service skills. It was as if she was plucked up off the streets and this was her first job, but at her age I am sure she has had a few jobs before this one. Now, you may ask where is the good? Well, on 1/11/2015 I finally was given a reason to write a good review for Pei Wei Asian Diner. Her name is Denecia W. This lovely, young lady wasn't wearing a name tag, so I had to actually ask her to write down her name for me, only downfall was not wearing a name tag. Lets get back to how the unnamed girl inspired me to write this review. For a year now me and my partner have been frequent guests of this Pei Wei Location, and for a year now we have been ordering a bowl of soup with 2 side bowls and a side of crunchy noodles. For a year now, every staff member has messed our order up. What is so hard about 1 bowl of soup with 2 side bowls and a side of crunchy noodles? Well, it is simple, or so we thought. Apparently Denecia W. thought it was simple too. Denicia W. was the first person in a year to get our order 100% correct. She presented herself with a top of the line costumer service, that has surpassed even my expectations. She greeted us with a smile, and even avoided getting frustrated when a manager walked up and said, "Hey hon" to her right in front of us. She delivered our food in a timely manor and even with a smile. She asked us if we wanted anything else, and after we said we are good, continued to her register to take more orders and deliver out more food. Denicia W. I believe is a new employee at this Pei Wei Location and I hope that the management and other employees don't cause her to become as jaded and uncaring, as they are towards the costumers. She is bright and friendly while the rest are bored and dry. I believe Danicia W. is the beacon of hope that this Pei Wei Location needs to inspire the costumers to come back time and time again. Thanks for reading and I hope things change for the best, Jay L.

I came here for lunch today. I ordered the mandarin kung pao chicken with fried rice and my friend ordered the Mongolian steak with fried rice. The ONLY good thing this place has are the soda machines.. The chicken was extremely salty. The fried rice on both plates were salty undercooked and cold. We also ordered edemame as an appetizer and they were disgusting. The staff was nice but the food is disgusting. Never coming here again.

We ate here for dinner one of the nights we were on vacation in the area, beginning of March 2015. Last year we loved the place, but they have really gone down hill since then! My food was way too salty (beef stir fry of some sort). My boyfriend helped me finish it and I had most of his meal, a shrimp bowl something, which was a little better. Along with the food not being good, the restaurant appeared messy. Trash on the floor, tables, etc... and this was late, close to 8pm, after the typical dinner rush. It's like they had no one assigned to keep the dining room clean. Very unfortunate. I complained to the manager at the end, who apologized and gave me a $10 voucher to use next time. I would have rather her take $10 from my bill; who knows when I will return.

I've heard great things about Pei Wei and wanted to try one. Sadly, my first experience with one was lackluster. The host who took our order was less than friendly. The server who delivered our food, however, was really nice and took extra steps to bring us condiments and check on us. Sadly, the food was sub par compared even to other quick service places such as Panda Express. My partner used to love Pei Wei, but he found they had changed the menu and that the quality had nosedived.

I have been here 2 times in the past 3 months. Both were for take out orders. I waited approximately 30 minutes the first time for my order and about 25 minutes the second time. The service at this location is terrible. Employees seemed overwhelmed and stressed out. Food is good however, pass on the sushi. It smells fishy and doesn't taste fresh. I wish they would get their act together and offer better service. Other customers around me were tired of waiting and were upset. I won't be coming back anytime soon.

Very disappointed in the service I received tonight. I came in to order chicken teriyaki and hot & sour soup to go. After waiting over 40 minutes the girl came up to me and said they were out of hot and sour soup so they would give me egg rolls instead. On this night they were also out of sushi. It is a Friday night, they should be stocked with enough food to make it through the night. Not happy that I had to wait over 40 minutes for just one plate of chicken teriyaki. I will never come back to this location again. Definitely will go to other restaurants instead that will actually treat customers well.

It causes me great pain to write such a bad review of a place whose food I love.... but i have had enough of this location. I am a vegan and Pei Wei is one of the places where i can easily eat. So many great options and such great food. However; the service at this location is beyond horrific - and that is an understatement. I can't even tell you how many times Ive been comp'd or given gift cards for the bad experiences. Last week was my final straw. After waiting 45 minutes for an order I placed online, I was told that my order wasn't even started and there were others in front of me. When i told the manager that i wanted a refund and to cancel the order, she did so with MAJOR attitude. I was very very polite. After her attitude, I mentioned that they might want to reconsider their level of service. She told me that they "were getting a new manager and maybe something would change". While waiting, I noticed that she had to comp several meals and give out numerous gift cards for others who had been waiting. There were a LOT of upset patrons! I just can't do it anymore. Interestingly enough I took the time to write a letter to their corporate headquarters. I would "think" that being owned by the parent company of PF Changs, that I would get some sort of response. Not expecting a free meal ( already got a ton of those due to the bad service ). Its been 2 weeks and Ive heard absolutely NOTHING from them. Not even a note to say "sorry for the bad experience". As you can see from the reviews, the reputation is spreading around town. I just drove by ( saturday night ) and the parking lot was empty. Changs / Pei Wei needs an emergency crew in to fix this place QUICK!

Nothing about Peiwei do I care for other than their service which has always been good. The food selection is limited, the quality is marginal and in my opinion very bland. A lot of the stuff reminds me of frozen dinners. I've eaten here 2-3 times and I've yet to find something I enjoy. Just not a good experience! I much rather eat elsewhere.

Always have a good lunch experience at the Pei Wei location on Federal Highway in Ft. Lauderdale. Counter staff is friendly, dining room is clean and my order arrives at my table quickly. I usually get a basic chicken pad Thai and it's always steaming hot when the runner delivers it to me. Never any complaints with the quality of the food or with the service. Now, if you're not a fan of the Pei Wei approach to quick, American-influenced, Asian fare, then this simply isn't the place for you. That's just a fact. Pei Wei is one small step above fast food. And if that's not your thing, then you'll be better off making a different choice for lunch. But if you're looking for a quick bowl of pad Thai or other basic dishes, then the Pei Wei location on Federal Highway is a really decent option to consider. I will return many times in the future.

My husband loves this place, but after reading reviews, I was fairly certain I would not enjoy it.. I was wrong! I think the key here is in the ordering! We tried a variety of wok dishes, as this is not the kind of place where one should probably order sushi?? Maybe I'm wrong, but the woks were great! My hubby's two favorites are the kung pao chicken and the caramel chicken! I would happily order both again! The Thai dynamite steak was just ok though...probably will not order that one again. They also had the great soda machines here, but I really liked their chai iced tea with vanilla and cinnamon and their iced green tea with orange. I would rate this place one star higher, but food delivery was kind of a mess. Might not be the healthiest place, but can't wait to return for a fast, tasty lunch.

Not good at all! The food is as bad as the staff. Place is filthy and needs a clean ! The decorative pots and woks hanging over the line are filthy and dusty. Tonight they ran out of soup along with the sauce we wanted. The food we did get was not good. Cold rice , smaller portions then I had before. My veggies in my tofu were not even cooked. Its just not good. I should not have eaten the rice. I belly is grumbling already.

Overall if you are looking for fast, affordable, qualityThai / Asian style food, it's a good place. Service is quick, food is freshly made and pretty good, not amazing but if you like that style it's fine, based on the price you are paying here. Location is easy to get to, and from my past 6 visits there, the line is 3-4 min until you get to order. Then about 5-10 min wait to get your food.

Walked in through the take out door to place an order and waited 9 mins just to place an order and 15 to get the order. No one acknowledged that I was even standing there. It wasn't busy so I just didn't understand why it took so long. The manager was on the register and he didn't even speak or say someone will be right with you, NOTHING!!! Another customer came in about 5 mins after I placed my order and he waited about 5 mins before they took his order. Worst Pei Wei experience ever.

Fresh and fast - and very yummy I love the lettuce wrap at PF Chang and this is very comparable - and pretty affordable Lots of choices, and you can "have it your way" - the staff seems to know what they are doing and will cater to your wishes regarding ingredients added or subtracted. I did carry out so not sure about eating in but the proof is in the tasting and this was super good Thanks

This is my third visit in the last week. I like the food. However, the restaurant is filthy. There was food all over the empty tables and food on the floor. I saw a cockroach walk by a table; I tried to kill it but it got away. It is truly disgusting and is a shame, given the quality of the food. I spoke with the newly appointed manager who said he was aware of the problem and intended to change it. I will go once or twice more. If the restaurant is still dirty, I'll mark it off my places to eat.

Not my first visit to PW, but my first review. The food is decent Americanized Chinese food. You have tons of options, start with a style/sauce and pick a protein. I had the Mongolian chicken this visit and it came with brown rice this time. I hadn't asked for brown rice and not sure if that is now the normal side or not. I guess I could have asked for it to be changed, but I didn't really care enough. They bring the food as its done, so my friends waited 5 more minutes than I did. And my food was only luke warm, which was not typical. But the service is friendly and the place is clean. One highlight is the Coke machine that gives you tons of options and flavors to drink. Oh and lastly, they have the lettuce wraps that you could get at PF Changs. Didn't have this visit, but they are really good.

Don't want to go the PF Changs, but still want a decent Americanized Chinese dinner? Well, Pei Wei is your spot. I have been to this location a few times and find that service is generally fast and friendly. I tend to order the combos which include your choice of soup or spring roll. The hot and sour soup is a little less tasty than other versions you can find at a Chinese restaurant, but the won ton is very good with big spinach leaves and tasty little won tons. The combo also comes with your choice of a few entrees. I recommend the Pei-Wei Spicy. It is a little sweet and a little sour from the rice vinegar. You can order it extra spicy to give it a little more kick. I tend to order my entrees "stock-velveted" meaning they cook the protein in broth rather than frying. The entree also comes with brown or white rice. I've never had the rice overcooked so I can't relate to other reviewers on that one. I think the soda fountains (Coke products with favors) and unlimited fortune cookies are great. If you sign up online for their email program they will periodically email you buy-one, get-one coupons. Who doesn't love BOGO?

I have been to other Pei Wei's in the past and they have been good, this one is not. It is sad that one bad store can make it bad for the entire chain as I have stopped visiting all Pei Wei's when I am out on the road. Twice this Pei Wei I would rate below Panda Express. Thank You!

All I can do or say about the place is exactly what a previous Yelper suggested: "Keep on driving." The best I can say is that it is well decorate, very good looking and clean. That fact however doesn't overcome what is a very, very limited menu. The ingredients used are of the cheapest sort, the flavors bland and nothing, I repeat nothing, is at all Chinese authentic that I tried. It's just a cheap, low budget Chinese quick food joint; sort of the McDonalds of Chinese dinning. Even for the cheap price, my experience was totally disappointing. The only place I've ever seen with worse Chinese is in a high school cafeteria line. Because it has nice decor and clean, I gave it two stars. Food wise, the cheap cafeteria food with truck stop flavoring would only rate a one star.

I took their online survey via facebook to earn a buy one get one free entrée coupon. I got it to go. Service was fast and accurate. I ordered the Thai chicken dynamite and the Chicken Coconut Curry. I get the chicken steamed with the sauce on the side to save on calories. The order taker was friendly. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
